Literary Throwback Thursday: Pride and Prejudice

For my #ThrowbackThursday posts, I’m going to be throwing it WAY back to some of my most favorite classic novels. Since it’s my first week, I simply HAVE to feature what is not only my favorite classic novel, but also one of my very favorite novels of all time, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Why do I love, cherish, and adore this book? Well, the characters are amazing. They are wonderfully flawed, rather feisty,  and have the most brilliant arcs. Austen also infuses her own mastery of satire in the character of Lizzie Bennet, making her one of the strongest and most lovable heroines in all of literature. And the romantic tension in this thing, it’s insane! I mean, what woman doesn’t love Mr. Darcy?!

There are also so, so many amazing spinoffs and adaptations of this book. You could spend years doing nothing but reading/watching different takes on Pride and Prejudice and never get board. Here are a few of my favs…

So what is your all-time favorite classic novel? Do you have a favorite Pride and Prejudice adaptation?

Happy reading, all!

It’s got to be the Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle for me – even if it does take 6 hours to watch, there are worse ways to spend a weekend!
I understand why so many people say this is their favourite book, but for me, I always find myself going back to Wuthering Heights when I need a comfort read.

Love that version of the movie! I think I like it more BECAUSE it’s so long! Also adore Wuthering Heights!

I’ve heard of Pride and Prejudice so much now that I need to pick this up as soon as possible. Thanks for the seal to my questioning if I should get it or not.

Glad it was helpful! You’ll have to let me know what you think if you end up reading it!
