2017 Debut Authors to Watch: Chelsea Sedoti

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett came out in January of this year, and I absolutely LOVED it. Check out my full review here! So this week’s post is not only to make sure that you’re all keeping an eye out for new books from this incredibly talented author, but also a reminder to READ THIS BOOK if you haven’t done so already!

Also, Chelsea already has a new novel in the works titled As You Wish, which is scheduled to be released in January of next year. It sounds every bit as cool as Sedoti’s debut, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Check it out on Goodreads here!

About Chelsea Sedoti

13990575.jpgChelsea Sedoti fell in love with writing at a young age after discovering that making up stories was more fun than doing her school work (her teachers didn’t always appreciate this.) In an effort to avoid getting a “real” job, Chelsea explored careers as a balloon twister, filmmaker, and paranormal investigator. Eventually she realized that her true passion is writing about flawed teenagers who are also afraid of growing up. When she’s not at the computer, Chelsea spends her time exploring abandoned buildings, eating junk food at roadside diners, and trying to befriend every animal in the world. She lives in Las Vegas, Nevada where she avoids casinos, but loves roaming the Mojave Desert.

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett by Chelsea Sedoti

25546710A teenage misfit named Hawthorn Creely inserts herself in the investigation of missing person Lizzie Lovett, who disappeared mysteriously while camping with her boyfriend. Hawthorn doesn’t mean to interfere, but she has a pretty crazy theory about what happened to Lizzie. In order to prove it, she decides to immerse herself in Lizzie’s life. That includes taking her job… and her boyfriend. It’s a huge risk — but it’s just what Hawthorn needs to find her own place in the world.

I recommend pairing this Nevermore Pinot Noir with The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett, since it seems that at least one character will exist “nevermore” by the end of this book.

*Wine pairing are strictly for those of legal drinking age only!*

Whose read The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett already? Did you enjoy it as much as I did? Are you excited to hear more about As You Wish?

  2. You are the whole reason I didn’t look at this book, read the synopsis, and just shelve ever reading this book. Your review of Lizzie Lovett grabbed my attention and I am ready to do this! I’m glad you’re spotlighting Sedoti– I didn’t realize there was another book in the works already!

I love a good unreliable narrator, and Sedoti totally nailed that with this book. You’ll have to let me know if you read it.
