Waiting on Wednesday: Reign of the Fallen

I am so excited to read Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh, I can hardly stand it. Necromancers, zombies, and an LBGT romance! Where can I pre-order this thing?! Oh, wait. I already did. I mean, if the premise of the story wasn’t enough, just look at that gorgeous, GORGEOUS cover. This book is going cover-out on my bookshelf the second it arrives!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Be sure to check out their blog and share the upcoming books your excited about with us each Wednesday!

Wine Pairing

I’ll be pairing Reign of the Fallen with this Incanto Rosé. This wine seems a perfect blend of magic and beauty, which certainly reminds me of this stunning book cover. This is also a fun, sparkling rosé which should come in handy when celebrating the successful raising of the noble dead.

Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh

29906017An LGBT fantasy series that follows a talented necromancer who must face down a deadly nemesis who has learned how to turn her magic into a weapon.

Odessa is one of Karthia’s master necromancers, catering to the kingdom’s ruling Dead. Whenever a noble dies, it’s Odessa’s job to raise them by retrieving their souls from a dreamy and dangerous shadow world called the Deadlands. But there is a cost to being raised–the Dead must remain shrouded, or risk transforming into zombie-like monsters known as Shades. If even a hint of flesh is exposed, the grotesque transformation will begin.

A dramatic uptick in Shade attacks raises suspicions and fears among Odessa’s necromancer community. Soon a crushing loss of one of their own reveals a disturbing conspiracy: someone is intentionally creating Shades by tearing shrouds from the Dead–and training them to attack. Odessa is faced with a terrifying question: What if her necromancer’s magic is the weapon that brings Karthia to its knees?

A lavish fantasy with a surprising and breathtaking LGBT romance at its core, Reign of the Fallen is a gutsy, unpredictable read that will grab readers by the throat and never let go….

I love that cover, definitely got my attention! And didn’t realize at first that this is by the author of Fear the drowning Deep, which I read earlier this year. Looks great!

Ugh, that cover is just everything. I literally sigh every time I look at it. It’s just far too pretty for its own good. And Fear the Drowning Deep was great as well. plus, you had me at that second sentence. Wonderful pick! 😀
