Waiting on Wednesday: Reign the Earth

Reign the Earth by A.C. Gaughen sounds like absolutely everything I look for in a fantasy novel: strong female characters, fascinating magic system, and a high-stakes plot. I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on this beautiful, BEAUTIFUL book.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Be sure to check out their blog and share the upcoming books your excited about with us each Wednesday!

Wine Pairing

Reign the Earth may not be coming out until January 2018, but I already have my wine pairing ready to go. I’ll be pairing rich new fantasy novel, full of elemental magic with this Broken Earth Merlot, which is a nod to the book title as well as the power that Shaila possesses, which just may tear the world she knows apart.

Reign the Earth by A.C. Gaughen

25566671Shalia is a proud daughter of the desert, but after years of devastating war with the adjoining kingdom, her people are desperate for peace. Willing to trade her freedom to ensure the safety of her family, Shalia becomes Queen of the Bonelands.

But she soon learns that her husband, Calix, is motivated only by his desire to exterminate the Elementae—mystical people who can control earth, wind, air, and fire. Even more unsettling are Shalia’s feelings for her husband’s brother, which unleash a power over the earth she never knew she possessed—a power that could get her killed. As rumors of a rebellion against Calix spread, Shalia must choose between the last chance for peace and her own future as an Elementae.

This intense, richly drawn high-fantasy by the author of Scarletwill hold readers spellbound.

This is the first I’ve heard about this book but it sounds very intriguing. I love anything with elemental magic so this book sounds right up my alley.
