Her vengeance. His vision.

Ari lost everything she once loved when the Five Guilds’ resistance fell to the Dragon King. Now, she uses her unparalleled gift for clockwork machinery in tandem with notoriously unscrupulous morals to contribute to a thriving underground organ market. There isn’t a place on Loom that is secure from the engineer turned thief, and her magical talents are sold to the highest bidder as long as the job defies their Dragon oppressors.

Cvareh would do anything to see his sister usurp the Dragon King and sit on the throne. His family’s house has endured the shame of being the lowest rung in the Dragons’ society for far too long. The Alchemist Guild, down on Loom, may just hold the key to putting his kin in power, if Cvareh can get to them before the Dragon King’s assassins.

When Ari stumbles upon a wounded Cvareh, she sees an opportunity to slaughter an enemy and make a profit off his corpse. But the Dragon sees an opportunity to navigate Loom with the best person to get him where he wants to go.

He offers her the one thing Ari can’t refuse: A wish of her greatest desire, if she brings him to the Alchemists of Loom.

Cvareh returns home to his sky world of Nova with the genius crafter Arianna as his temperamental guest. The mercurial inventor possesses all the Xin family needs to turn the tides of a centuries-old power struggle, but the secrets she harbors must be earned with trust — hard to come by for Ari, especially when it comes to Dragons. On Nova, Ari finds herself closer to exacting vengeance against the traitor who killed everything — and everyone – she once loved. But before Ari can complete her campaign of revenge, the Crimson Court exposes her shadowed past and reveals something even more dangerous sparking between her and Cvareh.

While Nova is embroiled in blood sport and political games, the rebels on Loom prepare for an all-out assault on their Dragon oppressors. Florence unexpectedly finds herself at the forefront of change, as her unique blend of skills — and quick-shooting accuracy — makes her a force to be reckoned with. For the future of her world, she vows vengeance against the Dragons.

Before the rebellion can rise, though, the Guilds must fall.

Oh good! I’m interviewing Elise on my blog next week and I’m happy to hear we didn’t ask the same questions. I always feel bad for authors getting the same questions over and over and over again. I’m super excited for this book and I haven’t even read the first one, yet! Hahaha! I just hear such awesome things about it and I LOVE world-building. 😉

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

Oh, that’s right! I remember talking about how you were doing that blog tour! I’m glad we didn’t ask the same questions too. I always worry about that when I write them. They are such great books. They really deserve more hype IMO.

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Exactly! It’s AMAZING how much the task of promotion falls on authors, even smaller authors with big publishing houses. They definitely have to wear multiple hats, because publishers are putting out SO MANY books these days.

      • Melanie Noell Bernard says:

Well, and the publishers also want the author to be involved and they’re putting more and more on the authors. (Which isn’t always the best for the authors because marketing is a lot of work and may be out of their wheelhouse.) The publishing industry has been really pushing new authors to have a platform already. It can be a lot of work on top of just writing the book. :p

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Definitely. I was actually just talking to one of our local authors last night about the pre-order swag she’s having made and everything she’s doing to prep for the launch, and it’s crazy!

  2. ladymagnolia99 says:

I have read many reviews on this book and it really sounds like I would definitely enjoy reading it~~~

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

If you like fantasy novels, I cannot recommend this one highly enough! It deserves every bit of hype that it gets!

  3. bookprincessreviews says:

Yet another brilliant interview (I typed in review in there first because I never realized just how they rhyme XD). I’ve been hearing such a great series this is, and with a Krysti, rec, I know to get on it stat. Wonderful post, lady! 🙂

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

Funny how those two things go so well together. 🙂 It is such a great series. Amazing world building and characters and incredible romantic tension! I feel like you would like it. 😉

      • bookprincessreviews says:

Ahahahaha, they really do. XD But oooooh, you had me at world building but romantic tension is so brilliant as well. And I’ll definitely have to add it to the TBR mountain. 😀

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Just keep piling them on! That’s what we do! 😉 I really do think you’d love this one though. 🙂

      • bookprincessreviews says:

YES. But I super won’t mind adding this one on. I haven’t tried too many books about dragson, so I’m excited. Also, I did make a mistake the other day, Krysti: I found a list with 2018 books and now I added like 30 more books to the TBR.

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

These aren’t dragon-dragons. They are people dragons. I don’t really know how to describe them, but definitely not how you’d imagine. You’ll like them. Oh no! Where did you find that list? LOL.

      • bookprincessreviews says:

o.o Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh gotcha. That makes sense in a weird way. But it doesn’t sound completely terrible. It could work. XD But GOODREADS. It was just sitting there…all 6 pages of it (I added 40 books to the TBR and I only did the first 2 pages D:)

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

It’s actually really cool. I was a little nervous about the dragons too, but their actually really awesome. Oh my gosh. I am staying so far away from that page…or I am going to try to stay so far away from that page! LOL!

      • bookprincessreviews says:

Oooh, okay, super excited about it now. 😀 And YES. Stay away, stay away. I had maybe like 12 books originally, which were just books that I had found throughout the year (sequels and such) and I went on that page and now I have 54 books on that shelf. D:

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

I was going to, but then I saw your post today, and I was like, so much for that! LOL. Hahaha. I need to get my 2018 calendar going. I’ve kind of started but not really yet.

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

That’s probably for the best. XD It’s almost weird to think it’s only July 2o17 when we’re talking about all these 2018 releases.

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Hahaha. I’ve already been requesting some 2018s as well. Best to get them in early, I guess. LOL. 🙂

  4. Jackie @ toomuchofabooknerd says:

Ahhhh what a wonderful interview! I really loved getting to know Elise Kova more, she seems so sweet! And it’s so crazy that she starts doing world-building A YEAR before writing anything for the actual story??? But at the same time it’s so clever XD

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

Thank you! I love Elise Kova! Her books are amazing, and she is just an awesome person. It totally makes sense from reading these books that she starts working on the world building so far in advance. You can definitely tell! Love these! 🙂

  5. Jackie B @ Death by Tsundoku says:

Again, a wonderful interview, Krysti! I love the questions. I haven’t read Alchemist of Loom yet, but it’s on my TBR. As you know, I want to wait until the series is finished before I dive in. 😉

Elisa Kova: Thank you for answering these questions! I cannot wait to get lost in this world you’ve developed. All my friends are raving about it. 😀 Did you find that your ideas for the full series came all at once to you or did the develop over time? How does your inspiration affect your writing process?

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

I adore Alchemists of Loom. For me, it’s definitely one of the best fantasy novels out their. It’s kind of a combination of Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Throne of Glass. And it’s awesome!
