#ARCstravaganza: Before She Ignites

Happy Monday, everyone! And welcome to another weekly #ARCstravaganza! I am so, so, SO excited to feature Before She Ignites today! I adore Jodi Meadows’s other books, and this one sounds absolutely phenomenal! The description is captivating, and I have been hearing nothing but rave reviews so far!

This book also has one of, if not THE, best covers I’ve seen this year. In YA, that is saying something! I cannot wait to dig into this beauty!

NOTE: In August #ARCstravaganza is going to switch to Instagram only. We’re so sorry for the change, but it’s getting really hard to manually track all the entries each month for the giveaway. We really appreciate your participation!

ARCstravaganza

Title: Before She Ignites

Author: Jodi Meadows

Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books

Pub Date: September 12, 2017

Before

Mira Minkoba is the Hopebearer. Since the day she was born, she’s been told she’s special. Important. Perfect. She’s known across the Fallen Isles not just for her beauty, but for the Mira Treaty named after her, a peace agreement which united the seven islands against their enemies on the mainland.

But Mira has never felt as perfect as everyone says. She counts compulsively. She struggles with crippling anxiety. And she’s far too interested in dragons for a girl of her station.

After

Then Mira discovers an explosive secret that challenges everything she and the Treaty stand for. Betrayed by the very people she spent her life serving, Mira is sentenced to the Pit–the deadliest prison in the Fallen Isles. There, a cruel guard would do anything to discover the secret she would die to protect.

No longer beholden to those who betrayed her, Mira must learn to survive on her own and unearth the dark truths about the Fallen Isles–and herself–before her very world begins to collapse.

Alright it’s your turn! Show us those ARCs/eARCs/Galleys that you’re most excited about! Feel free to take pics to share on your blog posts/bookstagrams, do a book feature, or get creative! We can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Kudos to you for switching #ARCstravaganza to a single platform! I have been wondering how on earth you could manage that up to this point. There are so many hours in the day!

I’m keeping an eye out on this book. I think it’s got some great potential, and you’re right– the cover is gorgeous! But it’s the first book in a series and I like to wait until a full series is published before jumping into it. That said, sometimes I jump in anyway if it’s worth it. I look forward to seeing how the world takes to Before She Ignites

Oh, my goodness! It was getting to be way too much. Especially with all the other social media things to keep up on. I just can’t keep doing it that way unfortunately.

I am so excited to read this one though. I’m hearing wonderful things on this one, so it may very well be worth jumping in!

This will be my 1st solo Jodi Meadows book (I read her collabo My Lady Jane) even though I own some of her older books *for shame* anyways, I’m super stoked! I have a galley of this one & I just know this is one that I’ll be buying a physical copy of on release day *excited emoji* 😉

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

I’m super excited too! Thanks so much for participating! And yes! The switch won’t happen until August. 🙂

  3. Flavia says:

Ahhhh I was totally going to request an ARC of this but then changed my mind. I forget why, haha. Anyway, here is my very first #ARCstravaganza post: https://flaviathebibliophileblog.wordpress.com/2017/07/17/arcstravaganza-1-hunting-prince-dracula-by-kerri-maniscalco/

Sorry it took so long (I had issues with WordPress all day), and I’ll be sure to schedule my next posts in advance. I was just away all weekend, and had no time to prep a post last week.

Thanks again for hosting such an awesome meme, and I look forward to next Monday!

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

Oh, I hate it when I do that. It’s hard when you don’t want to have TOO many ARCs, so you don’t request and then end up missing ones you really want. LOL. I’ve already done that so many times!

No worries! This is a chill meme. 🙂 We are just happy to have you participate!

      • Flavia says:

Yeahhh you get it! That’s definitely how it happens. But that’s life I guess. Or you request more than you thought you did, expecting only a few, and then you get them ALL and are swamped haha. #BookBloggerProblems lmao

And yaaaay! I will try my best to keep up and post every Monday 😀

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Hahaha! That totally happened to me yesterday. I was like AWESOME I got approved for a book on Edelweiss, and then OH! I got approved for seven books on Edelweiss in like ten minutes. LOL. Better get to reading…

And awesome! It’s so fun having you participate! We’re switching to Instagram only posts in August, just because it’s getting really hard to manually track the entries for the drawing, and I really want to keep doing that part. 🙂

      • Flavia says:

Bahaha that’s totally what used to happen to me on NetGalley! Hope you enjoy all 7 books! 😁

And yeah I did notice that announcement! Does that mean NO more blog posts at all?

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Eeep! Me too! LOL. 🙂 You are always welcome to do blog posts as well. To contest entries will have to be through Bookstagram only though, just because it’s become too time consuming to track everything manually.

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Awesome! They still count for double entries until the end of the month. So this week and next we’ll still be doing the blog posts as well. Then in August it’ll be Instagram only unfortunately.

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Of course! I love that you’re loving it! You’re making me want to continue doing it and just having the contest be on Instagram only honestly. Would that be lame? The only reason I want to stop is because I can’t manually keep tracking all the entries. What do you think?

      • Flavia says:

I say you can definitely do that! And I totally understand why you’re wanting to keep the contest portion to one place! Heck…I’ve only ever used Rafflecopter for my giveaways because I do not have the time or patience to manually track 😂😂

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Well, I’m glad you are onboard! I will have to chat with Sarah and see what she wants to do. 🙂 I definitely won’t be doing a manual giveaway again. LOL. I usually do Rafflecopter or just Twitter giveaways, because they’re so easy! 🙂

  4. bookprincessreviews says:

Ooooooh exciting new change for August! I’m sure it will be loads easier for you, and I’m super glad (since I know the TBR mountain is one struggle already). Another great pick!, lady 🙂

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

It is a GORGEOUS cover. Thanks so much! I’m glad you’re on board with the Insta only change. I feel bad changing it, but it’s so hard to manually track it. And there’s too many books and too little time already! 🙂 Loved your post!

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

Thank you, love! I loved seeing the blog posts, especially since I know not everyone likes to Bookstagram, but it’s just too much to track manually. Thanks for being so supportive and awesome as usual!

    • KrystiYAandWine says:

We only do the #ARCstravaganza on Mondays just as a fun little weekly Instagram event, but I would LOVE to have you participate with us! Plus you can win ARCs. No guarantee that they aren’t ones you already have, but if you win and have them already, you can always host a giveaway yourself! 🙂
