Release Date: November 7, 2017

It was the perfect night for a party.

That is, until twenty-one-year-old Chelsea Dawson disappeared. The social media star was last seen enjoying a beautiful summer night at the Jersey Shore with her friends. But after an explosive fight with her ex-boyfriend, she vanished without a trace.

When Seneca, Maddox, Aerin, and Madison hear about the suspected kidnapping, they notice a jarring detail about the victim: she looks exactly like Aerin’s sister, Helena, who was killed five years earlier. Seneca is convinced she knows who killed Helena, and she can’t shake the feeling that the same person has taken Chelsea.

Desperate for answers about the two girls, and the truth behind her mother’s murder, Seneca will stop at nothing to find out if the cases are linked. So when Maddox receives an invitation to the Shore from none other than their primary suspect, the Amateurs begin an intense new investigation.

Full of disturbing secrets, startling twists, and horrifying revelations, the second book in #1 New York Times best-selling author Sara Shepard’s The Amateurs series follows the team down a twisted path—one crafted by a brilliant killer.

About the Author

From Sara’s Website

For as long as she can remember, Sara Shepard has been writing. However, when she was young she also wanted to be a soap opera star, a designer for LEGO, a filmmaker, a claymation artist, a geneticist, and a fashion magazine editor when she grew up. She and her sister have been creating joint artistic and written projects for years, except they’re pretty sure they’re the only ones who find them funny.

She got her MFA at Brooklyn College and now lives outside Philadelphia, PA with her husband and dogs. Her first adult novel is called The Visibles/ All The Things We Didn’t Say.

Sara’s bestselling young adult series, Pretty Little Liars, is loosely based on her experiences growing up on Philadelphia’s Main Line…although luckily she never had any serious stalkers. The series has also inspired the ABC Family television series of the same name.

I love it. I hate to say it’s a guilty pleasure, because I hate it when people say that about books. I don’t think people should ever feel guilty when they read books, but that’s the best way I can come up with to describe that show.

Oh my god I can’t wait to read this!! I love mysteries so of course though lol. And pll. I saw the title of your post in reader and for a second literally though you meant follow my blog hahahaha but I mean do that too people duh.

Woohoo! I’m so glad you’re excited for it as well! Hahaha. I didn’t even think about that. That would be an interesting post. 🙂

I did not know that you were a PLL fan. Did you read the books as well? I hate to say it but I super died out on the last season and then after the first book. I really did enjoy The Lying Game by her, so if this series was Krysti approved, I’m going to have to give it a go. Wonderful post! ♥️♥️

I haven’t read the PLL books. I love watching the show though. It’s one of my “blogging” shows. I watch it while I put my posts together a lot. I did really like The Amateurs. I can’t wait for Follow Me! 🙂

I will say that the PLL books really had a whole different feeling to them. It didn’t feel so much like the show (for once, I think the show was better :O :O :O). But I can imagine that it would be a great show to watch in the background. 😀 Ooooh, okay, I’ll definitely have to add it to the list then. 😀

      • KrystiYAandWine says:

Oooh, gotcha. I’ll probably just stick with watching the show then. There’s too many of those books for my poor TBR at the moment anyway. 🙂 I am enjoying this series so far though. Hopefully you will too. 🙂

I used to love PLL (the show, I’ve never read the books) but haven’t actually watched it in a long while. I don’t even know what’s going on anymore xD I think I stopped at season 4 (possibly the first episode). So, you see, I’m waaaayyy behind hahaha
I’m intrigued about Shepard’s books, though, so I might give them a try soon 🙂
